The Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee wants to make sure no one eats alone on Christmas.

They're hosting Jingle & Mingle over Soup for the second time this year.

Co-Chair with the committee Sandra Scott says they got a wide range of people last year including new people to the country and seniors or families who don't have other family near by to celebrate the holidays with.

Scott says "We're inviting anyone who may not have anywhere to go or they just can't travel this Christmas or they're new to Cochrane and haven't made any connections yet to come and have Christmas with us."

Paul Singh, Volunteer Coordinator with the committee says "When I moved here five years ago, everything was closed on Christmas, and I had nowhere to go, so we came up with as a committee with this great idea for people to mix and mingle over soup."

Scott says they will hand out small gift bags to children which is all donated from local community organizations.

Thirty-nine people showed up for the event last year.

You can enjoy hearty homemade soup, fresh bread and delicious sweet treats.

The FREE soup lunch goes from 11:30am to 1:00pm on Christmas Day at the Cochrane Alliance Church.
