We can't have birthday parties but we can have our own private Jeep parade!

In this time of uncertainty the Cochrane Jeepers Club has stepped up and put smiles on so many faces with their Jeep birthday parades.

And to top it off the club has now organized a Mother's Day Food Drive for the local Cochrane Activettes Food Bank.

Fawna Sidoryk with the Cochrane Jeepers says they're going to be holding the food drive on Sunday in the parking lot of the Cochrane Alliance Church.

"They've donated their space to us and we're going to do it drive-through style. So you roll up in your vehicle and we'll be able to take your stuff contactless right there. And then we'll give the big donation to the food bank that evening after we do our round of birthday parades that night."

Sidoryk says the response for their Jeep birthday parades has been overwhelming.

"Probably we average four nights a week right now. I don't think any of us realized how big it was going to get. And we're trying to figure out at what point do we stop? Now we're doing this awesome thing and when does it end? We're here well into summer for now. We have on the books right now, well over 100 parades. I think we're booked till May 14th and we'll have done over 100."

She says one of their parades last weekend just kept growing in size.

"I think our record now was last Sunday. We started off with 17 Jeeps and then as we progressed we picked up another Jeep and then we picked up an RCMP cruiser and then we picked up a bylaw officer and by the end of it we were at 20 vehicles. It was pretty cool, that was our record."

Sidoryk says they wanted to do this food drive as a way to give back to the community.

"Kind of two-fold. A lot of people want to give us money but that's not what we're there for. We're just doing this out of the goodness of our hearts. It just a half an hour, a couple of times of week and it brings a smile to so many faces. So this is a good way for anyone who is looking to give us a thank you then absolutely and come out on Sunday and donate to the food bank. But it's also a way for us to take this momentum and give back to the community even more."

The Mother's Day Food Drive will be held at the Cochrane Alliance Church on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

There will also be a draw and prizes that are donated by local businesses and members of the Jeepers club.

The prizes include gift cards, a flower bouquet, Crystal Rear View Mirror car charms, koozie, a crystal bracelet and more.
