It seems more people are lighting up their homes with amazing Christmas displays than we've seen in recent years.

There isn't a single neighbourhood where you aren't awestruck by the creativity and passion of Cochranites in a Christmas like none other.

We now have a chance to give a tip of the hat to our favourites in a Home Decorating Contest of local MP Blake Richards.

Richards' team has put together a short-list of 10 homes in Cochrane and now asks residents to determine which one if the best.

Richards says he's thrilled with the number of entries and excited to see which homes are chosen as the winners.

“After a tough year that included the cancellation of some of our favorite local Christmas traditions, I wanted to find a way to spread some Christmas cheer that was safe,” says Richards. “Everyone really embraced this friendly competition, and it has been great to see the number of entrants, votes, and feedback overall.”

Winners will receive prizes from local small businesses, so every vote will count. Richards says he wanted to make sure small businesses were supported at this time of year.

“We have seen what lockdowns and distancing measures have done to our small businesses, so I wanted to make sure I did my part to support them, especially at this time of year. Winners will be getting some excellent prizes from small businesses in their respective area, and I’ll be sure to highlight those small businesses after the winners have been chosen.”

Finalists have been divided into four separate categories based on their location in the constituency.

Votes will be accepted until Dec. 25 at 11:59 p.m.

We've posted the photos of all 10 homes.

Winners will be announced on Richards’ Facebook page on Boxing Day.
