Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Rocky View County near Cochrane.

A low pressure system coming off the Pacific will hit the Cochrane area this evening, producing 50 mm of rain or more by Wednesday.

This evening we could see heavy rain at times with precipitation amounting to 20 to 30 mm, continuing into Wednesday where we could see about 10 to 20 mm more of rain.

Environment Canada reminds everyone heavy downpours can cause pooling on roads, and flash floods.

Heavy rainfall in the area should end Wednesday evening as the system tracks into Saskatchewan.
