The Bow Valley Grizzlies have had a successful week back in action after a month off.

On Wednesday, Aug. 3, the Grizz crushed the Calgary Saints 61-0, followed by a huge 77-0 win over the Calgary Rams on Saturday, Aug. 6.

Tyler Hawes, Grizzlies Division 2 coach, says it was an unanticipated win against the Rams, who only lost one game prior this season.

"I didn't really expect that to be honest," he shares. "But they came out firing and really took it to the Rams, it was great to see. They're playing really well, and they're playing for each other, as a coach it's what you like to see."

Hawes says it's a big confidence boost to win two in a row, especially before playoffs begin.

"Huge confidence builder for sure, building up towards the playoffs. Confidence is a good thing for the guys, they're definitely loving scoring tries."

The Grizz have 3 regular season games left until playoffs, Hawes says things are looking good for the team.

"We're sitting pretty good right now but we'll have to see how the next month goes, we've got a couple of tough games coming up, so I think it will gauge where we are with the rest of the league. The next few weeks are pretty important."

The next Grizzlies game will be held at the Calgary Rugby Union, Saturday Aug. 13.
