Canadian Blood Services wants your blood.

The gift of life starts in the community; generous support of new donors is desperately needed in Cochrane over the holiday season. Canadian patients have an ongoing need for blood every minute of every day and donations save lives of accident victims, people undergoing leukemia, and the thousands of people undergoing cancer treatments.

Canada Blood Services (CBS) is encouraging people to give the gift that costs nothing.

Lisa Castro, Canadian Blood Services, Territory Manager, agrees that no one likes the thought of needles but knowing that you can potentially save someone’s life makes the thought of it much less unpleasant.

"Just knowing that you are helping patients' lives is the most invaluable gift that you can give over the holiday season. It will take 5-10 minutes to donate, and the benefits are endless"

CBS will be adding extra clinics in December to get more donations at the blood bank. If you ever have considered donating blood, December is a great time to start. Clinics will be at the Cochrane RancheHouse on December 5 and 15.
