If you've been hesitant on getting your second, or even your first shot of COVID-19 vaccine, you can join the over 75 per cent of Albertans with one dose of vaccine, or even become among the 62 + per cent who are fully immunized against the virus tomorrow (July 27) in Crossfield.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) will be conducting a clinic, that doesn't require an appointment, from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in the Crossfield Community Centre, located at 900 Mountain Avenue.

Anyone born in 2009 or earlier who hasn't had a first or second dose of vaccine can get one of 300 doses of mRNA vaccine, either Pfizer or Moderna, that will be offered at the clinic.

You need to bring along your Alberta Health Care Card and one piece of photo ID.  You're required to wear a mask at the clinic and to use hand sanitizer while at the site.

So far, the province has administered around 5.2 million doses of vaccine into the arms of Albertans.  As of Friday, 75.2 per cent of eligible people in the province have received one dose and 62 per cent have been fully immunized.

Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said on social media last week that the majority of new cases in the province have been among people who aren't vaccinated or are within two weeks of getting their first shot.

Hinshaw said 91 per cent of Albertans who tested positive for COVID-19 since the beginning of the year hadn't had two doses of vaccine and 91 per cent of deaths and 95 per cent of hospital and ICU admissions were following that same trend over the past month.
