The Cannex Cochrane Generals will be wearing pink for the first time in this Sunday's 3 p.m. game against the Coaldale Copperheads.

"It's going to be a great atmosphere, great game, and the players are really excited about it," says Gens president Rick Richards.

Nonperishable food is also being collected.

The colour pink has become synonymous with the hope we share with the millions of people around the world who have been afflicted with cancer. The game is to create awareness and support for the battle waged.

There will be an opening ceremony, and at the end, the players will give their pink jerseys to their moms, says Richards.

Saturday night, the Gens are in Strathmore to face the Wheatland Kings. The two teams are 1-1 after their first two meetings of the season.
