The Cochrane Generals continue to sit in top spot of the HJHL Southern Division standings with 36 points.

Dan Gendur, Generals, Head Coach, says the boys played great over the weekend.

"We had a good weekend, this weekend. We were actually fairly short-handed with some injuries and some suspensions as well. The guys really stepped up and filled roles that they normally do not play; we played actually one of our best defensive games that I've seen this group play."

Gendur says while they never concentrated on strategy, when push comes to shove, the team delivers.

"We didn't really emphasize anything too special this week in practice, we worked our powerplay and a little bit of the defensive zone. I think guys took charge and their attention to detail that we have been teaching all season really showed up in that game against Airdrie."

Even short-handed, the Gens managed to shut out the Airdrie Techmation Thunder 2-0, and continued their winning streak on Sunday, November 13, when they beat out the Medicine Hat Cubs 3-1.

The boys are back in action on home ice Friday, November 18 against the Three Hills Thrashers.
