If you are an avid golfer get your clubs ready, because the Links of GlenEagles is ready for you.

For the third year in a row golf season is underway earlier than expected thanks to some recent double digit weather.

Slade King, General Manager, says "everything's good to go, looks good, the course wintered well."

It has been busy for the course in the first few days of operation, and King is optimistic this season will be better than last.

"Last year was such an odd year. Of course it was a weak year corporate wise and economy, however, it was the longest season ever; we opened the earliest ever and we closed the latest ever. We are anticipating a better year this year I certainly don't think we're back to what we call 'normal' but there seems to be a lot of hope in businesses in the Calgary market this year that maybe wasn't last summer."

The course will again offer their Play Golf Calgary card and new this year is 50 for 50, which will offer a variety of 50 days for 50% off.

For those looking for lessons, a variety of options will be provided from private, group, ladies boot camp, and the Junior Golf Academy. King says the junior program is quite popular and registration is already open.

"A great junior program the same as we always have. We start them up in May we are signing people up right now for them. There's a May program, July program, and August program with evening lessons for four weeks."

King is just hoping the momentum of the early start is a good indicator of what is to come this season.
