Rocky View County has implemented a fire ban effective immediately.
Weather, wind, and moisture conditions have created a high risk of fire. The ban will remain in effect as long as high risk conditions remain.
During a fire ban, all burning permits are suspended, and burning is banned, including the use of backyard firepits.
There are some exceptions:
- Internal household fireplaces
- Camp stoves (properly attended)
- Propane/natural gas barbecues
- Propane/natural gas fire pit
- Solid fuel barbecues (charcoal briquettes)
- Wood pellet grills
- Oil well flaring (registration required -- call 403.264.1022)
