The Calgary Flames training camp opened today in a format that works within COVID-19 protocols.

Cochrane's Dillion Dube is on Team Iginla that hit the ice this morning at 10 a.m. The afternoon session started at 12:15 p.m. and is named Team McDonald, in honour of popular NHL Hall of Famer Lanny McDonald.

Prior to the camp, medicals and testing were completed on Jan. 3.

The Flames will not play any pre-season games but will have two inter-squad games on Jan. 7 and Jan. 11 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

They kick off their regular season on the road against the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 14.

The Flames host the Vancouver Canucks in their home opener on Jan. 16.
