Overall, Dr. Deena Hinshaw is pleased with the new case numbers that showed a downward trend over the long weekend. As of 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, the numbers are as follows:

  • Cochrane drops to four active cases
  • Cochrane/Springbank area is at eight active cases
  • Rocky View County 23 active cases 
  • since Friday July 31 over 34,000 tests were performed 
  • 97 new cases on Friday, July 31
  • 67 new cases on Saturday, August 1
  • 74 new cases on Sunday, August 2
  • 65 new cases on Monday, August, 3
  • 85 people are in hospital with 23 in ICU
  • there are five new deaths reported since Friday, three associated with the Southgate Care Centre in Edmonton
  • 9650 people have recovered from the COVID 19 virus in Alberta

Dr. Deena Hinshaw started her report by saying thank-you, "I would like to start by thanking  Albertan's for looking out for each other these last few days. We heard many positive reports of mask use and of people following the public health guidance that we put into place."
