On September 23, 2022, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Cochrane RCMP was dispatched to a theft that occurred at a Springbank residence in Rocky View County. 

The victim had been working in his garage and briefly went into his home and when he returned to the garage discovered a suspect had stolen items from the garage. 

The suspect got into a waiting vehicle with another male suspect inside.

A confrontation ensued in which the victim was bear sprayed and dragged a short distance as the vehicle fled the scene. 

The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by EMS on the scene. 

Cochrane RCMP along with Stoney Nakoda, Rocky View County, and the RCMP Alberta Traffic Unit responded. Additional assistance was provided by Calgary Police Service HAWC helicopter and Tsuu T'ina Police Service. 

After an extensive search, the suspects were not located. 

The suspect vehicle was reported stolen out of Turner Valley and is described as a red 2017 Audi Q3 with license plate PTY518.

Suspect one is described as an 18-20-year-old male, 5' 9' tall with a heavy build. He has a round face with black hair and was wearing a green traffic vest.

Suspect two is a male wearing a similar green traffic vest.

The suspects could be armed and if you see them you are to call 911. Do not approach them. 

Cochrane RCMP is continuing to investigate the incident and is requesting the public's assistance if anyone has video surveillance in the area of Crooked Pond Creek and Lott Creek Drive in Rocky View County between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on September 23, 2022, to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000.
