Eric Ruttle and I spent a sunny Wednesday afternoon handing out 500 masks to local senior homes and grocery stores.

We popped by Save-On-Foods, No Frills, Safeway, Bethany Cochrane and Big Hill Lodge.

We chatted with staff at Big Hill Lodge for a few minutes and found out that the residents were generally in good spirits during these difficult times.

They have decorated the halls of the facility, each hallway with a different theme.

There's also a window specifically dedicated for visits.

Since the senior's aren't able to leave the facility right now, family members can book a time at the Visiting Window so they can chat with their loved ones.

Manager of Save-On-Foods, Randy Carswell says the masks will definitely be put to good use with a lot of staff members and shoppers opting to wear masks right now.

A huge thank you to Victor DeLaet of Factory LED Lights Inc. for donating the masks so we could hand them out in the community.
