Provincially, the number of active COVID cases dropped slightly over the weekend to 4,758, with 321 Albertans currently in hospital, including 53 in intensive care units.

Rocky View County's active case count also fell over the weekend and is currently sitting at 22 active cases.

Since Friday, Cochrane has added one more case of the virus and the town is now up to 12 active cases.

Provincewide variant cases climbed to 278 over the weekend, adding nine more cases of the UK variant on Saturday, February 20.

The majority of those 278 variant cases fall under the UK strain, and only seven are of the South African strain.

Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw will provide a provincial update at 4 pm.
