The Cochrane Chaos junior female hockey team dominated in a 5-2 win over the Calgary Jag, Oct. 25, at Totem One.

The Chaos came out hard in the first, scoring four answered goals. They capped it off with one more in the third.  The Jags got on the scoreboard with a powerplay goal in the second and one more in the third.

Chaos head coach Derek Loomer says they caught the Jags off-guard in the first.

"When they came out physically in the second I think it was a bit of adjustment for us. In the third, we took it back to them."

"It was kind of an up and down game, but overall we had a lot of good things on the ice and had a very good powerplay today."

It was a three-point night for Shea Dolan, with one goal and two helpers. Kaley Mueller and Ryann Altawasser had one of each. Other goals came from Isabella Borbridge and Callie Cummins, and Shelby Kirkpatrick and Brooklyn Carels earned assists.

The win comes one week after their first loss of the season to the south-leading Calgary Titans.

Loomer says the Chaos were unusually sluggish in that game. Despite that, the score was close until the Titans opened up a 3-1 lead on a breakaway with seven minutes remaining on the clock. They added an empty-netter.

In the preseason, Loomer recognized the Titans were stronger this season.

"It's going to be a challenge with them all year and we're looking forward to that compete level."

The Chaos hit the road today to take on the Lethbridge Eagles.

On Nov. 3, they host the Sherwood Steele, who are leading the north division.
