Residents of the broader Cochrane - Springbank area are doing their part to help flatten the curve.

According to Alberta health officials, The Town of Cochrane has been showing zero active cases of COVID-19 since Friday.

And now, some more good news for the broader Cochrane AND Springbank Area, also showing zero active cases.

This time last week the broader area was reporting five active cases and is now showing 36 recoveries to date.

The decline in active cases in Cochrane and the surrounding area comes despite a jump in cases provincewide.

After a week of daily cases of the virus being under 100, on Friday Alberta recorded 134 new cases; the highest daily increase since back on July 21st.

The province currently has 1,125 active cases of COVID-19, with 68 people currently in hospital and 18 in intensive care units.

Rocky View County continues to have 14 active cases.
