Brandon Lorenzo releases his latest single - AB Artist Feature

Brandon Lorenzo, a singer and songwriter from Airdrie is kicking off 2021 with the release of his new single 'Kissin In The Kitchen, "I was originally pitched this song by Aaron Goodvin and John King and we sat on this song for quite a while, as soon as I heard I knew this was one I would need to record."

This will be the second single that Brandon has released, at the start of 2020 his first single 'Spread Some Good Time Around' was released.

Brandon had the chance to connect with Aaron Goodvin at the Calgary Stampede back in 2019 and was able to talk with him about the songs Goodvin had sent over, "I just said, you know I've been listening to that song you sent me and how would you feel about me recording it." Getting the go-ahead from Goodvin to record Kissin In The Kitchen was a big moment early in his career, "To be pitched a song by somebody who is an international artist is just unreal,"

After getting into songwriting over the past couple of years, Brandon released an EP back in March of 2020 showcasing some of the songs he has written and is starting to explore that side of his musicality.

Collaborations especially in the writing room are helping Brandon to continue to develop his own songwriting, "That's the thing I can come up with a melody for a song no problem and come up with ideas, but when it comes to writing there is somebody who honestly, words just come out like it's nothing, so when those two things just come together that's when we play off each other it's great."

With 2020 being the year it was for artists and having their shows canceled or put on hold that wasn't going to stop Brandon from getting out and still finding a way to bring live music to people who he felt needed something joyful to take their mind off of what we all going through if just for a few songs at a time.

Performing street concerts in Airdrie during 2020 and some surrounding areas while adhering to the AHS restrictions was what Brandon needed to get through the last year, "With the street shows we were doing back in 2020, we are hoping we can do more of those and there's been a lot of Facebook live shows, we had a contest for any who voted for the Fans Choice award and the winner got a private show streamed for them."

The video for the new single features real couples which was important to Brandon,  they put a call out for people to send in video submissions of them just spending time together at home and he was happy with the response and how the clips show that through everything people are dealing with there is still joy and there is still love with those around us.

"The song felt relevant right now, so why not release it, because everybody is at home and just hanging out because of this whole Covid thing, and everybody might just be kissing in the kitchen at home."

This year Brandon received nominations for two Country Music Alberta Awards (CMAB) in the categories for Horizon Male artist and Fans Choice, "I felt it happened really quickly as I am still fairly new in the country music industry, but I am really excited," The Horizon Male Artist has seen winners like, Strathmore's own Drew Gregory, Brett Kissel, and Dan Davidson since 2011. The CMAB awards will be streamed live on February 28 at 7 pm.
