Other than graduation, it is traditionally the most prominent night for Bow Valley High School, and it will remain that way, despite the challenges provided by COVID-19.

On Wednesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. the school will be broadcasting its awards night live on its YouTube channel.

Teacher Tara Sly says all are welcome to view it on the Bow Valley High School YouTube channel.

"We hope that all of our learning community will absolutely tune in to celebrate these amazing young people and their accomplishments," she says.

"Celebration is a huge part of who we are as Bobcats, and we wanted to end the year with something that celebrates so much of the excellence that is a part of our learning community."

The Blue & Gold Celebration recognizes student excellence in sport, service leadership, fine arts, and group activities. Additionally, citizenship and major award recipients will be announced. The evening also premieres the new BVHS CARES awards.

"There will also be some surprises in store, with the usual celebration air of all things Bow Valley," says BVHS teacher Tara Sly.

The school has been teasing the broadcast to its students, and it's drawing some attention.

Teacher Matt Baugh will be the emcee of the event, and presenters have pre-recorded their introductions of award recipients. Normally students emcee all major events at Bow Valley High, but that wasn't possible this year.
