The Big Hill Haven will be the benefactor of funds raised through Two Pharmacy's Family Roots Program in November.

Two Pharmacy operations manager Reid Kimmett says they have selected the Big Hill Haven to be the recipient of the funds for November because of their important work in the community.

"I think through the pandemic, we've seen the effect of that on families and relationships, and we think Big Hill Haven is a resource that's needed now more than ever," says Kimmett. "We saw it as an opportunity to support the work they're doing, partnering with them, learning more about them, and presenting them with a cheque at the end of the month."

Each month, one per cent of all sales going through the till of the longtime Cochrane pharmacy is given to a worthy cause.

Last month saw just over $4,500 raised for the BGC Cochrane (Boys and Girls Club).

"November is one of our busier months as we build towards Christmas with flu shots and that kind of thing. It's one of our busier months, so hopefully, we'll set a new benchmark," says Kimmett.

This is the twelfth month the pharmacy has been contributing to local causes through Family Roots.

"Prior to that, we were doing some international charity work, but we've enjoyed the opportunity to deepen our roots within Cochrane itself. It's been great to be a part of that."

Tara McFadden, fund development and public relations officer for the Big Hill Haven, gives thanks to Two Pharmacy.

"We appreciate them thinking of us and, of course, coincidentally this is Family Violence Prevention Month, so it's great timing."
