An Every Child Matters walk and ceremony is being held tomorrow. The BGC of Cochrane and Area is committed to ensuring Cochranites can participate in the day just west of town.

"We organized a community shuttle," says Nola Hume, BGC Manager of Youth Programs. "If anybody from the community of Cochrane wants to hop on the shuttle and they're not wanting to drive out there, we're gonna be leaving the BGC parking lot and bringing people right up to the McDougall church."

Southland Transportation has donated a school bus to be used for the community shuttle. The bus plans to leave BGC's Fifth Ave location Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. Space is limited and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

While tomorrow is the second annual National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, Hume says BGC and The CLUB have filled the week with indigenous-based programming and teachings. "We have been doing some talks this whole week about Truth and Reconciliation. We have little takeaway books with the 90 calls to action."

"We have had a community member come to the club and meet with our teens. We've done an art project that's all centered around Truth and Reconciliation. It's all leading up to this big, big day on Friday."

All participants in tomorrow's Every Child Matters walk and ceremony are encouraged to wear orange and bring cash to participate in a 50/50 raffle.
