Ball hockey tournament raises $1,400 and gathers plenty of food

Six teams participated in the first charity ball hockey tournament of P3 Sports since the pandemic.

Alec Miller, of P3 Sports, says $1,400 was raised for the Build Them Up program of the Alberta Children's Hospital, and plenty of nonperishables were gathered for the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank.

There was no entry fee but instead, donations were accepted. Additional funds were raised through a silent auction.

"It was a fun weekend and great support for a couple of good causes," says Miller.

"It's something we hope to continue and it's something we hope to continue to involve our Czech athletes with."
