Premier Kenney announced that effective immediately, at request to stop all social gatherings in the cities of Calgary and Edmonton is being implemented.. He said, "A lot of people will say that the government has no business telling us who we host at home or what kind of socializing we do. I understand that reaction, but here's the reality, if we don't these kinds of simple measures and make these sorts of modest sacrifices to social life the cases will continue to grow where the only options we have will be more impactful on people's lives and livelihoods."

All watch areas in the province. are now expected to keep social gatherings to 15 people.
