It may amount to only bragging rights, but the Cochrane Crush AAA Majors are playing their final game of the season this Saturday at Matt Krol Park.

COVID-19 has limited their play to 12 exhibition games against two Calgary teams, but the goal was to allow the players to have a little summer fun, says Corey O'How, one of the team's coaches and Cochrane Minor Ball president.

Saturday they'll be playing Foothills in the final of the exhibition series. The Crush finish on top with nine wins, two losses and a tie and earned a bye into the final game.

It will be against Foothills, who beat Centennial earlier this week in the semifinals.

Last weekend, the Crush won both games against the Centennial and Foothills.

O'How says the players showed their batting prowess.

"Our bats kind of came to life. We've been waiting for that to happen. I think we scored something like 45 runs in the two games, so the kids are hitting really well."

Game time is 1 p.m.

Cochrane's two junior teams are also matching up against some Calgary teams in exhibition play.

The two junior Crush teams face each other in their final game of the season on Aug. 22.
