Team Wipf has the day off from play in the U21 Men's National Curling Championship after rebounding with a 10-3 win over B.C.'s Team Duncan-Wu last night.
A four-pointer saw the Alberta champions take a commanding 6-2 lead in the fifth end, followed by a three-point end in the sixth. The Duncan-Wu rink conceded after eight ends.
The win follows an 8-3 morning loss to Manitoba's Team Freeman, who loss their first game later in the day.
Team Wipf has a stronghold on second in their pool with a 5-1 record with two games remaining in the preliminary round.
Friday morning, they play Team Marin, the other Alberta rink, which has a 3-2 record. An afternoon matchup follows against Northern Ontario's Team Rajala (2-4).
Cochrane curlers Ky Macaulay and Max Cinnamon are members of the team, which also curls for the UCalgary Dinos.
Fort McMurray is hosting the New Holland nationals.
