Another 31 active cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the last 24 hours by Alberta Health officials.

None of them are in Cochrane, and there remain seven active cases in Rocky View County.

There are 534 active cases in the province, up by nine since yesterday. Several Albertans have recovered in the last 24 hours.

Most of the cases are split between Calgary and Edmonton. Edmonton has surpassed Calgary for the first time in the total number of active cases since the beginning of the pandemic. They have 238 cases, compared to Calgary's 235.

There remain 34 in the north, 20 in the south, and three central zone, where they have been the fewest number of COVID-19 cases confirmed so far. Four other people afflicted with the virus haven't been attached to any particular region.

Since June 5, the number of known active cases has increased by 195. The number of tests completed has also risen drastically in that same period.

Currently, there are 33 people hospitalized, seven being treated in intensive care units.
