Planning for the 2020-2021 Mountainview Junior Rodeo season has begun.

The Cochrane based club hosts five indoor rodeos during the fall and winter months each year.

Organizer Linda Holmes says that this unique club offers a variety of events, and there's something for everyone.

Holmes says "We're a full Rodeo so we've got everything from barrel racing to goat tying to steer riding."

Holmes says there is a wide range of dates available to a wide age group. She says  "The rodeo events run in October, November, January, February and March. March is our final and the age groups are seven and under, eight to ten, eleven to 13 and then 14 to 16 year-olds."

The club offers a unique indoor service that you won't find in many other Alberta locations. Holmes says "Its one of the only clubs that run during the winter in Alberta. There's one far North, and here in Southern Alberta we are one of the only ones."

The indoor junior rodeo events take place just outside of Cochrane at the Bearspaw Rodeo Centre, and so far membership is just shy of 100 participants. Holmes says "We have close to 100 members, and it's just a fun, fun day. The kids do awesome, they love it and we get awesome sponsors so we are able to give away really good prizes at the end of it."

As they grear up for another indoor rodeo season, Holmes recognizes that finding sponsorship this year will be more challenging than previous years.
