The Summer Village of Waiparous is gearing up for Wildfire Community Preparedness Day (WCPD) with an event this weekend.
Residents will come together to tackle various projects to ensure the community is well-prepared for the approaching wildfire season.
The community is hosting a prep day where residents are invited to take part in a pump practice, do a light cleanup and enjoy a BBQ lunch.
As a bonus, participants will have the opportunity to win door prizes.
The event is set to go tomorrow at the Waiparous Community Services Building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Summer Village of Waiparous participates in this event every year. All costs associated with the prep day come from grants and donations.
